ITC finds HTC guilty on two of Apple’s patents, HTC prepares to fight back
Posted on July 15, 2011 | View CommentsSo far, Apple has been having a hell of a time in the courthouse, and I might say, this is a good thing for them. However, this is bad for HTC, clearly. The ITC has ruled that 2 of the 10 patents Apple accused HTC of infringing on in Apple’s favor; in other words, HTC was found guilty. If everything plays well for Apple, we can expect particular devices manufactured by the Taiwanese company to be banned from reaching US shores. Good for Apple favoritism, bad for those who love HTC. HTC general counsel Grace Lei responded back quickly with the following statement: “HTC will vigorously fight these two remaining patents through an appeal... -
[QUICK HIT] HTC CEO Confirms: No More Locked Boot Loaders
Posted on May 27, 2011 | View CommentsWell, just a day or so after HTC said that the bootloaders on their Sensation and Evo 3D handsets would be locked, CEO Peter Chou announced that they will never do it again. As you can see, on HTC’s Facebook page, a quote by Chou points it out very clearly: “There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we’ve listened. Today, I’m confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience” This is great news for those who love to tinker with their devices. HTC also... -
Editorial” The HTC Flyer: Just a giant smartphone?
Posted on May 25, 2011 | View CommentsUpon the release of the iPad, both the first and second iterations, many websites and people themselves were calling the device a giant iPod Touch. Those people had legitimate reasoning: It ran a very similar operating system to the iPhone and iPod Touch, and really didn’t have a lot more functionality. But one thing it did have was a higher resolution display and a much more complex and intense SDK, the latter which really made use of the screen real-estate the iPad had (and of course, still has). Go into the App Store, and it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll find applications for the iPad that its smartphone counterpart doesn’t have, such as a Photoshop extension... -
[RUMOR] HTC Puccini Tablet
Posted on May 10, 2011 | View CommentsAt Mobile World Congress, it was the Flyer. This entire year, it was the rumored HTC Verdi. Now, we can add another tablet to the list: the HTC Puccini. Pictured above, it is a 10″ Honeycomb tablet that will run on AT&T’s network, with a 4G antenna onboard. Although it is just a rumor currently, it may be out at the end of the year. Scribe, 4G, and the amazing HTC Sense UI will all be onboard, you can bet on that. Nicolas Wiggins Android Correspondent Source: -
Qualcomm’s new processors rival your laptop. Blow through 1080p Flash.
Posted on May 2, 2011 | View CommentsQualcomm, the people behind the ever popular Snapdragon processor have developed a new platform. This platform is dedicated to high quality video play back through and on you Android device, with the new Qualcomm dual core processors and Adreno render engine 220. The new processor is the MSM8660. What it lacks in a name, the 8660 makes up for in GHz and performance. The 8660 has a clock speed of 1.5GHz and is a dual core chipset. This officially blows my Motorola XOOM out of the water in terms of clock speed, but the performance isn’t only noticeable in how many times I have to type “GHz” with numbers in... -
QUICK HIT: HTC Flyer Pre-Order Tomorrow at Best Buy, $499
Posted on April 23, 2011 | View CommentsBest Buy is the exclusive retailer for the nice 7″ Flyer by HTC, and they are going to start the pre-orders tomorrow for about $500. This tablet, although small, Android 2.3, and ran by a single core processor, is actually really good. HTC has added Scribe, which allows you to use a capacitive stylus and get a lot of use out of it. And don’t forget, HTC partnered with OnLive to give you on-the-go gaming, with a large selection of games from almost every console ever created. Furthermore, the device will be updated to Honeycomb in the future, no idea how HTC is going to keep Sense intact, though. Just... -

DROID Incredible 2 Pre-Sale Tonight, DROID X Gingerbread Update Soon?
Posted on April 20, 2011 | View CommentsThe sexy new DROID Incredible 2 looks like it is going on (pre) sale tonight. Wirefly says that at midnight they will let people purchase the DROID Incredible 2, and it will ship out on the 28th. This also shows that the rumored release date of the 28th is probably truth. Oddly enough, Verizon still hasn’t officially acknowledged that they will have the DROID Incredible 2 yet. But the rumors don’t stop there! -
