  • …And it might not be too hard. Not too long ago, Google introduced the world to Google+ (said plus of course), a new social network clearly geared around a few key things. While Google certainly has gone into the social networking industry (think Buzz or Orkut, the latter more popular in other places besides the US), but never quite like this. The service rolled out a little pre-maturely a few nights ago, with some Google users seeing a “+You” button in the top right hand of the home page. The features of Google+ are still being rolled out, but here’s a look at a few of the notables.

  • It seems that things are leaking more and more. Now we have what is potentially an unmarked HTC device that Google Android dev’s are using to test the up and coming release of Ice Cream Sandwich. Aside from the fact that this looks like an iPod Touch, the most noticeable feature is the lack of physical (capacitive) buttons. This lack of buttons first appeared in Honeycomb (Android 3.x) and now is moving to phones. It will be interesting to see how Google implements this feature, especially considering that a control bar (like on Honeycomb) could take up a lot of room on a smaller screened phone. • Ok, so its not actually in a little black dress, but close enough. Today at Google IO (Day 2), Google announced it’s first OEM partners for Chromebooks. A quick recap of Chrome OS. Chrome OS is a light weight OS that lives on your device, but the cloud handels everything. It is based around the very popular Chrome web browser and uses Google servers and all the web apps out there to get work done. This allows companies to make very sleek, low cost, and ultra efficient machines. The Samsung Series 5 is the perfect example of what the future has in store for us. So lets take a look, shall we?

  • “A new kind of computer.” Thats what Google is calling their new breed of notebooks. Last year Google started a beta testing program based around Chromium — now called Chrome OS — in this beta Google sent out free notebooks called CR-48′s. These notebooks were the platform for the future of ultraportable notebooks and showed what the “cloud” really can do. Today we see what all the hard work has lead to, and its truly amazing. Head past the break for more.

  • Android is a powerful force, but how powerful? Well if you take a peak past the break (and have a nice techno song playing) you’ll see a Google produced video that shows the growth and domination of Android over the last two year. Its the whole world, then broken down to continents. Watch the upper-left though and you’ll see countdowns for major phones. Look what happens to the US when the Motorola Droid launched. iOS, your argument is invalid.

  • We still have no word on that subsidization we talked about yesterday. However, it looks like we are set for the February 24th release date. We just found so images of the dummy units for the tablet arriving in Verizon stores. We expect Verizon to announce all of the details either tomorrow or Monday. Start the clock, only four days to go. Another image after the break. Getting one? Update: It also appears that the real units are in store and in stock. Here we go.
