Posted on May 27, 2011 | View CommentsWell, just a day or so after HTC said that the bootloaders on their Sensation and Evo 3D handsets would be locked, CEO Peter Chou announced that they will never do it again. As you can see, on HTC’s Facebook page, a quote by Chou points it out very clearly: “There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we’ve listened. Today, I’m confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience” This is great news for those who love to tinker with their devices. HTC also... -

HTC EVO Shift 4G (Knight), January 9th release date?
Posted on December 11, 2010 | View CommentsAn alleged Sprint employee has said this is the real thing. Looks like an Evo, slides like a Droid 2. With those through back keys and a plastic casing we really don’t know what to think about it.. -
Sprint Executives- Share our network “We don’t Mind”
Posted on December 2, 2010 | View CommentsOver the past few years Sprint has Invested millions and millions of dollars into clearwire. The two companies share their WiMAX and understandably so Sprint is worried about other company’s like Verizon jumping onto the 4G train with them. So, this week according to a Goldman Sachs analyst that met with sprint executives this past week were quoted sayingthat they “have encouraged” a wholesale spectrum deal that would bring cash in from T-Mobile USA. Keep in mind T-Mobile is really undecided on where their company 4G will mostly come from. They are still working on a plan to move farther than just HSPA+. But money is the ultimate factor in this decision. Sprint’s clearwire investments are not giving... -

HTC Evo 4G – Occasional micro-USB Port Problems?
Posted on August 23, 2010 | View CommentsWell not to often do we have to report something bad about the HTC Evo 4G or HTC phones in general. Unfortunately here comes some bad news about Evo 4G. From looking over the forums around the internets it appears that a small number of HTC Evo 4G’s are experiencing problems with the micro-USB port. THe main issue is that device will no longer charge or charges only intermediately. Thats a big problem considering your lucky to a day of use from this phone. A HTC Spokesman says :he problem will be covered under the one-year warranty as long as “it is determined that the issue was not caused by... -
EVO 4G With FROYO, First Impressions and New Features
Posted on August 10, 2010 | View CommentsToday I turned on my EVO, and wouldn’t you know, “A system update is available for your phone”. The update, OTA Supersonic 3.26.651.6, is Android 2.2 Froyo, and mmmmmmm do I enjoy froyo. Lets take a moment to review the new features, shall we? 1) App Sharing A cool new feature of Froyo is app sharing. Just select an app from the list and you can send it via Bluetooth, Facebook, Friend Stream, Gmail, Email, Messages, Peep, or Twitter. So far from what I’ve seen it just sends a link to the app that you open from your Android phone. 2) Flashlight The new flashlight app is pretty handy, it... -

EVO 4G 2.2 Update
Posted on July 29, 2010 | View CommentsWell nothing is confirmed and things like this can change at any time. We’re at least hopeful to see some internal Sprint communication that they’re trying to get the EVO 4G updated to Froyo as soon as tomorrow, July 30. It’d be the perfect way to kick off the weekend, wouldn’t it? This is no normal 2.2 update, they are making some changes including preloaded widgets, a flashlight mode for the camera’s LED flash, light-assisted 720p video, and “improvement” to the quality of said video capture. But not all is glossy, it looks like the tether hack might be sealed up with this one (kinda Appleish). We are hopeful the...
