iOS still leads for developer attention
Posted on April 26, 2011 | View CommentsAccording to a recent study by Appcelerator, iOS for iPhone and iPad are leading for interest regarding application development, with Android close behind iPad and Honeycomb not too far behind that. This helps us know what we can expect in the future, suchas the fact Windows Phone 7 does not have as much to call for, and neither does Blackberry (never mind webOS or Meego). However, as we all know too well, things can change. We can only wait and see. ~ Jake Root Apple Correspondent -
Survey reveals AT&T drops the most calls
Posted on April 6, 2011 | View CommentsCall me surprised. Actually don’t, you’d be a fool. A survey by ChangeWave Research has revealed that AT&T drops the most calls of any mobile network, at 4.6 calls per 100 (4.6%). Verizon unsurprisingly takes the lead in this survey with only 1.4 dropped calls per 100 (1.4%). T-Mobile is second at 2.3% and Sprint is third at 2.7%. AT&T reached out and said that a survey by GWS not so very long ago revealed a 98.6% success rate, or exactly the same as Verizon’s. Hopefully, AT&T’s upcoming LTE and current HSPA+ network’s will help that number drop more. Best of luck to you, because you will need it. ~ Jake Root Yes,... -
Woah! AT&T Purchases T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom
Posted on March 20, 2011 | View CommentsDespite the fact I follow technology news quite vigorously, I did not see this coming at all. AT&T has announced today that they will be purchasing the US’s secondary GSM carrier from Deutsche-Telekom (based in Europe). The companies say it will take about 12 months for the entire thing to go through, if it even does at all. There are quite the number of regulatory hurdles they have to go over. When it’s all said and done though, goodbye T-Mobile USA, it will just be AT&T. Only one GSM carrier for the entire country. Win-win situation? Over-all, it will cost $39 billion (cash and stock). Because the networks are both... -

Dell Venue Pro’s could arrive before Christmas, if you ordered by Dec. 14th.
Posted on December 16, 2010 | View CommentsDell said that their new Windows Phone 7 device, the Venue Pro would not ship until around January 6th of next year. Yes, that is for people who pre-ordered. However it now appears that Dell could get your phone to you if you managed to get your order in by, well, yesterday (Dec. 14). You should receive you gorgeous smartphone before Christmas, however those of you still holding out, you probably won’t see anything in stores until early January. This phone has been pushed back some many times, lets hope this is the last time we see a longer wait time for the Venue Pro. Now, for those of you... -
Dell Venue Pro. Its delayed until 2011. [Developing].
Posted on December 14, 2010 | View CommentsIf you ordered a Dell Venue Pro, their is a strong chance that you will not see your device until early “2011″. It appears that Dell is having both hardware and software problems and manufacturing is not going so swell either. This is kind of sad because this phone look very promising, of all the Windows Phone 7 devices, this is the one I would pick. A rep form the Dell community forums is saying that some devices may still ship on the 18th as planned, but you may or may not need another hardware swap to fix the problems with the device. These problems include Wifi not working and... -
Windows Phone 7 – On Sale Now.
Posted on November 8, 2010 | View CommentsMicrosoft, T-Mobile, and AT&T launched their Windows Phone 7 devices today. Currently we have three on the market in carrier stores and one only at Microsoft Retail locations. So here are the phones that you can get your self right now. The HTC Surround, with its slide out faux surround sound on AT&T, the Samsung Focus, a more utilitarian/business device which is also on AT&T, and my personal favorite, the HTC HD7, the most EVO like of the phones with a large 4 inch touch screen, very media oriented and is available on T-Mobile. All of these devices cost $199 on a new two year contract. Though their is one... -

Posted on October 13, 2010 | View CommentsLooks like Best Buy is taking your pre-orders for the HTC Surround. You can hit up Best Buy with a pre-order for your mincro sound bar music phone right now for just $549.99 USD off contract. If you want to go and get it on contract with AT&T you can look forward to paying about $200 USD. Also if you are living in the UK you can go and get the Smasung Omnia 7 on T-Mobile UK. New HTC 7 Phones
Posted on October 11, 2010 | View CommentsMay I say right off the bat that these five new Windows Phone 7 devices are mind blowing. Today WP7 was officially announced in a conference hosted by Microsoft and AT&T. HTC, Dell, LG, and Samsung all had phones to contribute to this event, and HTC sure did bring the cream of the crop. There is a phone for every type of person: if you are a gamer, a media buff, someone who enjoys a huge screen, a full keyboard, or massive surround sound. Lets take a closer look at these new phones: HTC 7 Mozart Crafted from an aluminum unibody design, and built for the person who loves music....

![WP7: Dell Venue Pro shipping December 9th $99. [Video] Dell showed off it’s Venue Pro a few months back, and last month even put a very small number of them out at Microsoft Retail stores. Now Dell is getting ready to ship full scale on December 9th. Lets recap what this Venue Pro has. Dell’s Venue Pro is a 4.1 inch, WVGA AMOLED screen that has a surprising portrait sliding keyboard. The Venue Pro comes in two models, an 8GB and a 16GB and is powered by Windows Phone 7. This is perhaps the best deal out side of something you would find on Black Friday. You can pick up a Venue Pro for $99 (8GB) or $149 (16GB)...](http://agrstech.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/VenuePro1-115x115.jpg)
