  • Ok, so its not actually in a little black dress, but close enough. Today at Google IO (Day 2), Google announced it’s first OEM partners for Chromebooks. A quick recap of Chrome OS. Chrome OS is a light weight OS that lives on your device, but the cloud handels everything. It is based around the very popular Chrome web browser and uses Google servers and all the web apps out there to get work done. This allows companies to make very sleek, low cost, and ultra efficient machines. The Samsung Series 5 is the perfect example of what the future has in store for us. So lets take a look, shall we?

  • “A new kind of computer.” Thats what Google is calling their new breed of notebooks. Last year Google started a beta testing program based around Chromium — now called Chrome OS — in this beta Google sent out free notebooks called CR-48′s. These notebooks were the platform for the future of ultraportable notebooks and showed what the “cloud” really can do. Today we see what all the hard work has lead to, and its truly amazing.   • Qualcomm, the people behind the ever popular Snapdragon processor have developed a new platform. This platform is dedicated to high quality video play back through and on you Android device, with the new Qualcomm dual core processors and Adreno render engine 220. The new processor is the MSM8660. What it lacks in a name, the 8660 makes up for in GHz and performance. The 8660 has a clock speed of 1.5GHz and is a dual core chipset. This officially blows my Motorola XOOM out of the water in terms of clock speed, but the performance isn’t only noticeable in how many times I have to type “GHz” with numbers in...

In just the last week we’ve seen many things hinting this, from boxes lined up in a row to a delivery, but now it is official: the white iPhone will come to market tomorrow, April 28, of 2011.   • I wanted to share a quick update on the state of the Playstation Network. While I do not own a PS3, I know many people who do and they are not very happy right now. So let’s recap, what the hell happened? Well according to Sony, the first part of the outage was caused by the world wide hacking group Anonymous. Anon has claimed responsibility for the outage, and their is nothing anyone can do to punish them for it. That’s just how the cookie crumbles folks. I’ve reached out to Sony for an official statement and here is the response I received:

A plus and a minus, if you ask me. Apple, in case you didn’t know, is suing Samsung. This is not surprising: Just take a gander at any Samsung Galaxy S device and it’s pretty clear where Apple is getting their angst from.
