Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event roundup
Posted on October 4, 2011 | View CommentsApple has taken the wraps off of it’s new iPhone, dubbed the 4S, today in Cupertino. They also announced some information regarding a new white color for the iPod Touch, new pricing for the iPod Nano, and a few other things, including a virtual person. Read on if you are legitimately interested in what Apple had to offer today. -
ITC finds HTC guilty on two of Apple’s patents, HTC prepares to fight back
Posted on July 15, 2011 | View CommentsSo far, Apple has been having a hell of a time in the courthouse, and I might say, this is a good thing for them. However, this is bad for HTC, clearly. The ITC has ruled that 2 of the 10 patents Apple accused HTC of infringing on in Apple’s favor; in other words, HTC was found guilty. If everything plays well for Apple, we can expect particular devices manufactured by the Taiwanese company to be banned from reaching US shores. Good for Apple favoritism, bad for those who love HTC. HTC general counsel Grace Lei responded back quickly with the following statement: “HTC will vigorously fight these two remaining patents through an appeal... -
Editorial” The HTC Flyer: Just a giant smartphone?
Posted on May 25, 2011 | View CommentsUpon the release of the iPad, both the first and second iterations, many websites and people themselves were calling the device a giant iPod Touch. Those people had legitimate reasoning: It ran a very similar operating system to the iPhone and iPod Touch, and really didn’t have a lot more functionality. But one thing it did have was a higher resolution display and a much more complex and intense SDK, the latter which really made use of the screen real-estate the iPad had (and of course, still has). Go into the App Store, and it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll find applications for the iPad that its smartphone counterpart doesn’t have, such as a Photoshop extension... -
iOS still leads for developer attention
Posted on April 26, 2011 | View CommentsAccording to a recent study by Appcelerator, iOS for iPhone and iPad are leading for interest regarding application development, with Android close behind iPad and Honeycomb not too far behind that. This helps us know what we can expect in the future, suchas the fact Windows Phone 7 does not have as much to call for, and neither does Blackberry (never mind webOS or Meego). However, as we all know too well, things can change. We can only wait and see. ~ Jake Root Apple Correspondent -
Apple news for the week of April 17th (and more!)
Posted on April 22, 2011 | View CommentsWow! What a fantastic couple of weeks it has been. Not only have we seen Apple’s prime software Final Cut Pro get an update, but a whole bunch of suing is going on too! A plus and a minus, if you ask me. Apple, in case you didn’t know, is suing Samsung. This is not surprising: Just take a gander at any Samsung Galaxy S device and it’s pretty clear where Apple is getting their angst from. More specifically, Samsung’s Galaxy S 4G looks to be the target (just check out the comparison below). Back at the Final Cut Pro update, this is a wild update. Not only have they... -
Survey reveals AT&T drops the most calls
Posted on April 6, 2011 | View CommentsCall me surprised. Actually don’t, you’d be a fool. A survey by ChangeWave Research has revealed that AT&T drops the most calls of any mobile network, at 4.6 calls per 100 (4.6%). Verizon unsurprisingly takes the lead in this survey with only 1.4 dropped calls per 100 (1.4%). T-Mobile is second at 2.3% and Sprint is third at 2.7%. AT&T reached out and said that a survey by GWS not so very long ago revealed a 98.6% success rate, or exactly the same as Verizon’s. Hopefully, AT&T’s upcoming LTE and current HSPA+ network’s will help that number drop more. Best of luck to you, because you will need it. ~ Jake Root Yes,... -
“…The EVO 3D is the Most Powerful Smartphone Announced to Date”
Posted on March 22, 2011 | View CommentsThats right, the new HTC EVO 3D on Sprint is THE most powerful, most amazing, and most eye-popping device ever announced. A dual core 1.2GHz processor runs America’s first 3D phone, and don’t worry, you will not be needing glasses to view your 3D content. Oh, and it captures and records in 3D as well. -
Prepare to be Blown Away: The HTC EVO 3D
Posted on March 21, 2011 | View CommentsWe are less than a day away from the announcement of the EVO 3D on Sprint, and all I can say so far is “WOW!” Specs have been leaked for this amazing device, and they are intense. A dual core 1.2GHz processor will be powering this beast of a phone, and as the name says, it will have a 3D display. With a 3D display, it would be nice to have dual cameras for shooting and recording in 3D. They added two 5MP cameras on the back, recording in full 1080p HD in 2D and 720p HD in 3D, so that is amazing. We will be here tomorrow breaking the... -

(Almost) Official, Optimus 3D set for Sprint February 7th Announcement
Posted on January 29, 2011 | View CommentsYes, I have been covering this story extensively in the past week, and it looks like the 3D phone will in fact be announced on February 7th, 2011 for Sprint, just a week before the international announcement of the LG Optimus 3D. According to Phone Arena, a tipster has squealed to them that a phone with a 3D screen and specs close to those of the LG Revolution will be revealed by Sprint PCS on the 7th. Their article specifically said: Since the announcement, there has been some rumors of what the device will be, but today we got word from an inside source saying that it will be for...
