[EDITORIAL] The iPhone 4S – Already Behind in the Game?
Posted on October 4, 2011 | View CommentsToday was a good day for Apple and Apple lovers, but it makes me wonder, “Apple, have you forgotten that you are competing with other manufacturers in the mobile world?” I ask myself that because the iPhone 4S is behind in almost every category, and that is not an opinion, that is an observed fact when you compare the specs with other devices. Don’t believe me? Lets compare the iPhone 4S with the Samsung Galaxy S II. -
Droid Bionic Quick Unboxing and Overview
Posted on September 18, 2011 | View CommentsIt’s a few days late, but I’ve been having more then a few issues with my Mac lately. I still need a few more days before I type up the review, but here are my impressions of the device so far. It’s a really good phone. Pentile display is not too bad, and even at minimum brightness you can see it in sun light. Great feel in the hands, if you live in a 4G area your speed will be super fast. I don’t love the camera, I think it’s an issue with the stock camera app, I’ve just been using Light Box and it takes wonderful shots. Also, I’ve... -
Motorola Droid Bionic On Sale Now!
Posted on September 8, 2011 | View CommentsIt’s been one long wait for the phone we saw back at CES 2011, but was it for the best? I think so. Shortly after we learned that the Bionic in it’s first form would be delayed, we saw leaked images of a device code named Targa, we knew then that this would be the Bionic, and now it is. You can order your Bionic online from Verizon for $299 with new 2/yr agreement, or $590 if you forgo said agreement. Or if you’re the Amazon type, you can head over to their mobile devision and pick up the “device to rule them all” for a cool $199 with a... -
Its Leaking: First Images of Ice Cream Sandwich?
Posted on August 11, 2011 | View CommentsHere is what we like to see. It looks like Google has a leak, a leak that likes to take blurry shots of in-dev versions of Android. Android Police and Rootz Wiki have obtained leaked shots of what could be Android 4 aka Ice Cream Sandwich or ICS. It appears that Google does not yet have new developer hardware, so if these shots are real, then the Nexus S is playing lab rat for ICS. We should point out that this could be clever skinning and some nice root apps, but we will give anything a look. We did see images leaked several months ago of what could be the... -
August 4th 2014, MDB228 Learn’s how to time travel.
Posted on July 18, 2011 | View CommentsConfused? I know you are, but its just to fun to not to use that title. If you want this to make since, read the forum post below, its a fun read and worth it. Greetings. I am Motorola Droid Bionic # 228. You must know my story, please do not share any of this information with mainstream media, Verizon, or any Motorola employees. This is sensitive information and its spread could have dire consequences. Early in the year that was 2011, my earliest ancestor, Etna, was scrapped. The reasons don’t matter, what does matter is the device that was being created to take Etna’s place. This new device was... -
ITC finds HTC guilty on two of Apple’s patents, HTC prepares to fight back
Posted on July 15, 2011 | View CommentsSo far, Apple has been having a hell of a time in the courthouse, and I might say, this is a good thing for them. However, this is bad for HTC, clearly. The ITC has ruled that 2 of the 10 patents Apple accused HTC of infringing on in Apple’s favor; in other words, HTC was found guilty. If everything plays well for Apple, we can expect particular devices manufactured by the Taiwanese company to be banned from reaching US shores. Good for Apple favoritism, bad for those who love HTC. HTC general counsel Grace Lei responded back quickly with the following statement: “HTC will vigorously fight these two remaining patents through an appeal... -
[RANT] “This Changes Everything?”
Posted on July 1, 2011 | View CommentsIt was a little over a year ago that the marketing staff at Apple decided that the iPhone 4 would, “..Change everything. Again”, but now that a year has gone by, what has it really changed? Pretty much nothing. But, while the iSheep were celebrating a new iPhone, the Android faction was celebrating the HTC EVO 4G, the phone that really did change everything. Let’s just see how this single phone changed the entire market, and how it destroyed the iPhone’s edge in new technologies. -
Nexus 3 On Camera? Could be called Prime.
Posted on May 30, 2011 | View CommentsIt seems that things are leaking more and more. Now we have what is potentially an unmarked HTC device that Google Android dev’s are using to test the up and coming release of Ice Cream Sandwich. Aside from the fact that this looks like an iPod Touch, the most noticeable feature is the lack of physical (capacitive) buttons. This lack of buttons first appeared in Honeycomb (Android 3.x) and now is moving to phones. It will be interesting to see how Google implements this feature, especially considering that a control bar (like on Honeycomb) could take up a lot of room on a smaller screened phone. TechHog — where this...
