Updated: Motorola XOOM WiFi Receiving OTA to ICS NOW!
Posted on January 18, 2012 | View CommentsLooks like our Managing Editor and Android Correspondent Nicolas Wiggins just was OTA’d ICS (Android 4.0.3) to his Motorola XOOM. I however have not been so lucky. Start hitting that “check for updates” button. We’ll be back with our first impressions soon. NOTE: Nicolas is not a member of the Motorola Users Forum which leads us to believe the first wave of ICS is rolling out on a large scale. All Images Credit To: Nicolas Wiggins. Update: We decided to ask Motorola what the deal was. So far now official reply, but some of their fans are commenting in. Update 2: My tablet finally was able to pull the ICS... -
LIVE Blog: Google/Samsung “Whats new with Android” Event.
Posted on October 18, 2011 | View CommentsToday Samsung and Google announce the Galaxy Nexus. The most advanced and revolutionary phone I’ve ever seen. They also spent a great deal of time in Android 4, and so will we. Read the live blog below and pick one up in November. -
Then new Motorola Lapdock 500 Pro.
Posted on October 18, 2011 | View CommentsThe Lapdock was something Motorola first showed off to us back when the Atrix was announced, it also launched with the Droid Bionic. It was not really a great device. Not Motorola has decided to try again, this time adding a 14 inch more MacBook Pro style Lapdock 500 Pro to the line. The 500 has a much larger track pad, what appears to be a bettery keyboard and of course a larger 14 inch screen. No word on pricing yet. ~Zephaniah Washington. AGRS Editor-in-chief. -

[QUICK HIT] Android 4- The XOOM Calls “Firsties!”
Posted on October 17, 2011 | View CommentsRemember earlier this year how the Motorola XOOM was the first device to run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb? Well, the XOOM will also be the first tablet to run Ice Cream Sandwich. Android 4, as it will be officially known as, will be showcased along side the Galaxy Nexus on Wednesday morning in Hong Kong (it will be 6pm Tuesday night here in Seattle), and the XOOM should be the first device to get it OTA within the next few weeks, but it isn’t clear whether it will have it before or after the Galaxy Nexus drops in early November on Verizon. Stay tuned for more ICS info, tomorrow night... -
[EDITORIAL] The iPhone 4S – Already Behind in the Game?
Posted on October 4, 2011 | View CommentsToday was a good day for Apple and Apple lovers, but it makes me wonder, “Apple, have you forgotten that you are competing with other manufacturers in the mobile world?” I ask myself that because the iPhone 4S is behind in almost every category, and that is not an opinion, that is an observed fact when you compare the specs with other devices. Don’t believe me? Lets compare the iPhone 4S with the Samsung Galaxy S II. -
Motorola XOOM WiFi receives another update.
Posted on September 29, 2011 | View CommentsJust a few days after the last update (HTK55D), the WiFi only edition of the Motorola XOOM is receiving another update, this time to HTK75D. This update brings us the all new Android Market, scaled to better fit the tablet form factor. We are not sure what else it brings, but everything is running smoothly. To manually update go to Settings> About tablet> System updates. More shots of the new market after the break. -
Motorola XOOM Receives Mysterious OTA Update.
Posted on September 20, 2011 | View CommentsI was just about to check some email on my XOOM when I get a nice little pop-up message, telling me that my device had an OTA update ready for it. Naturally I click download and what do you know, Android 3.2.1 was waiting to install to my XOOM. According to information on the “restart & install” screen, this version (HTK55D) brings “security fixes” and “enhancements” to the XOOM. I’m not sure what those “enhancements” are, but I will update this article if I find anything amazing. According to Android Police, this is update is a bit slow to roll out to users, so you might want to see if... -
Droid Bionic Quick Unboxing and Overview
Posted on September 18, 2011 | View CommentsIt’s a few days late, but I’ve been having more then a few issues with my Mac lately. I still need a few more days before I type up the review, but here are my impressions of the device so far. It’s a really good phone. Pentile display is not too bad, and even at minimum brightness you can see it in sun light. Great feel in the hands, if you live in a 4G area your speed will be super fast. I don’t love the camera, I think it’s an issue with the stock camera app, I’ve just been using Light Box and it takes wonderful shots. Also, I’ve... -
Motorola Droid Bionic On Sale Now!
Posted on September 8, 2011 | View CommentsIt’s been one long wait for the phone we saw back at CES 2011, but was it for the best? I think so. Shortly after we learned that the Bionic in it’s first form would be delayed, we saw leaked images of a device code named Targa, we knew then that this would be the Bionic, and now it is. You can order your Bionic online from Verizon for $299 with new 2/yr agreement, or $590 if you forgo said agreement. Or if you’re the Amazon type, you can head over to their mobile devision and pick up the “device to rule them all” for a cool $199 with a...
