Posted on October 18, 2011 | View CommentsToday Samsung and Google announce the Galaxy Nexus. The most advanced and revolutionary phone I’ve ever seen. They also spent a great deal of time in Android 4, and so will we. Read the live blog below and pick one up in November. -
[QUICK HIT] Android 4- The XOOM Calls “Firsties!”
Posted on October 17, 2011 | View CommentsRemember earlier this year how the Motorola XOOM was the first device to run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb? Well, the XOOM will also be the first tablet to run Ice Cream Sandwich. Android 4, as it will be officially known as, will be showcased along side the Galaxy Nexus on Wednesday morning in Hong Kong (it will be 6pm Tuesday night here in Seattle), and the XOOM should be the first device to get it OTA within the next few weeks, but it isn’t clear whether it will have it before or after the Galaxy Nexus drops in early November on Verizon. Stay tuned for more ICS info, tomorrow night... -
[EDITORIAL] The iPhone 4S – Already Behind in the Game?
Posted on October 4, 2011 | View CommentsToday was a good day for Apple and Apple lovers, but it makes me wonder, “Apple, have you forgotten that you are competing with other manufacturers in the mobile world?” I ask myself that because the iPhone 4S is behind in almost every category, and that is not an opinion, that is an observed fact when you compare the specs with other devices. Don’t believe me? Lets compare the iPhone 4S with the Samsung Galaxy S II. -
Nexus Prime Lands This October
Posted on August 18, 2011 | View CommentsSome good news is coming are way from Korean technology site Electric Times about the upcoming Nexus Prime. According to the website, the new Google phone will be available starting in October (just in time to steal iPhone 5′s thunder), and it will pack a 1.5GHz Dual-Core processor and a nice 4.5″ 720p Super AMOLED screen. And don’t forget, this device will be the first to feature Android 4.0, an OS that can bridge the gap between phone and tablet. There are also rumors going around that Samsung will make this device, and it will run on the Verizon network. 4G can be checked off on the list, as any... -
Google Wants to Purchase Motorola???
Posted on August 17, 2011 | View CommentsYes, it is true. Just the other day, Google announced that they are planning on buying Motorola Mobility. Many ideas have been circling since the news broke a few days ago as to what will happen, and it is clear that this “take over” of Motorola by Google is for greater things in the future. One of those ideas that are circling around is “supercharging Android”. Android may be the top OS in the smartphone market today, but Apple is still pretty high up, and Google woud love to change that. So, by acquiring Motorola, they should have the ability to make Android go into superdrive and destroy the competition,... -
[RANT] “This Changes Everything?”
Posted on July 1, 2011 | View CommentsIt was a little over a year ago that the marketing staff at Apple decided that the iPhone 4 would, “..Change everything. Again”, but now that a year has gone by, what has it really changed? Pretty much nothing. But, while the iSheep were celebrating a new iPhone, the Android faction was celebrating the HTC EVO 4G, the phone that really did change everything. Let’s just see how this single phone changed the entire market, and how it destroyed the iPhone’s edge in new technologies. -
QUICK HIT: A quick run down of OS X Lion.
Posted on June 6, 2011 | View CommentsIt is that time of year again, the World Wide Developers Conference is on in Southern California and Apple has a lot of new things to show to the world. One of the many new things at WWDC 2011 is OS X Lion. Yes, it has been a few years since Mac OS X was upgraded, and this is quite the upgrade. 250+ new features as Apple puts it. New multi-touch gestures, full screen apps like iPhoto, iMovie, Safari, and more, as well as the new iOS-like applications launcher. And, Apple has added their new Resume feature which allows you to pick up exactly where you left off, as well... -
[QUICK HIT] HTC CEO Confirms: No More Locked Boot Loaders
Posted on May 27, 2011 | View CommentsWell, just a day or so after HTC said that the bootloaders on their Sensation and Evo 3D handsets would be locked, CEO Peter Chou announced that they will never do it again. As you can see, on HTC’s Facebook page, a quote by Chou points it out very clearly: “There has been overwhelmingly customer feedback that people want access to open bootloaders on HTC phones. I want you to know that we’ve listened. Today, I’m confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience” This is great news for those who love to tinker with their devices. HTC also... -

Posted on May 14, 2011 | View CommentsSo I was looking on PhoneDog today and I found an interesting article. Apparently, an analyst by the name of Peter Misek has some interesting news about the next iPhone. Lets just say, it is part hilarious and all winning for Android.
