Apple Double Issue: Final Cut X now available, iCloud storage limit halts emails and more

Unless MacRumors is wrong (which they are often not), iCloud may or may not allow a person to continue backing up their device and receiving emails once the current 5GB limit is reached. Also, in fantastic news, Final Cut Pro X is now available via the Mac App Store. Read on for more details on both.

According to an image from Macrumors, Apple’s power-user iCloud service may not allow more then 5GB of use on your own personal hard drive in the sky. According to the image, once the limit is reached, your iDevice over-the-air updates will stop (as in no more OTA backups) and emails (which, yes, do take up space) will be delayed being sent to your email. The only ways around this is to either buy more storage, or delete your emails, which for your own personal sake you should do anyway.

In other good news, the Mac App store has unveiled Apple’s next-generation, and at that, legendary app, Final Cut Pro X. This update, besides making it more compatible with H.264 video codecs, includes many new features such as a much improved interface and better audio editing. The best part of this update is the inclusion of a background rendering machine (figuratively speaking, not literally) allowing you to better preview your edits without waiting 10 years for them to load. Download now for $299.99, and the rest of the new software (Motion 5 for example) is also available for $50 a pop.
