So I was looking on PhoneDog today and I found an interesting article. Apparently, an analyst by the name of Peter Misek has some interesting news about the next iPhone. Lets just say, it is part hilarious and all winning for Android.
Apparently, the next iPhone, which will debut this year most likely in September, won’t be named the iPhone 5. It will be named the iPhone 4S. HA!!!! The device will be so barely upgraded it won’t be eligible to have a full model number up. The analyst says it will have iPhone 4 looks but with a metal back, slightly improved cameras front and back, 4G connectivity, and the same dual core A5 that is found in the iPad 2. That is all that is new specs wise. No larger screen, no super-fast processor like the EVO 3D or Sensation, no “wow”, nothing. And, if you put this into perspective, the device will be a full eight months behind the curve if it is released with these specs. The Motorola Atrix, the first dual core phone, announced in January of this year, easily rips the device apart. But don’t be shocked by this, we all knew the iPhone 4 was three months behind the curve as the EVO was announced in March of last year, and that device was in the works for about a year. I guess it is something that we all have to get used to: iPhone is simply not the best anymore, so the next time I hear some uneducated idiot say “Durr the iPhone is the most awesomest phone ever” I will shred his logic.
Even better, the analyst says that all four major networks in the United States (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile) will be getting the device. Now, this is a major red flag to anyone, as it hints that Apple is hurting for a lot more customers, so it is reaching out to more carriers to try and stomp out Android devices. Of course, it will try, but just like the Verizon iPhone, there will be more Android sales on single devices. Yes, you read my article on how a lot of Verizon stores were selling more Thunderbolts than iPhones, and about half of their stores were selling at the same rate. I wouldn’t be surprised if about 60% of Sprint stores would be selling more EVO 3D’s than iPhones, 60% of T-Mobile stores will be selling more Sensations then iPhones, 60% of Verizon stores would be selling more Targas or Droid 3′s than iPhones, and 60% of AT&T stores will be selling more Infuse’s or Thrill’s than iPhones. We will just have to wait until September to see if I am right, which if you think about it my predictions are not crazy. This device is nearly the same that people have been mad at for the past year because of all of its problems like Antennagate, iOS, AT&T, dropped calls, ect. Once Steve Jobs comes out with that shit-eating grin and he tries to say how amazing the new iPhone is, I will be laughing very, very hard and saying “look, I was right, this thing is not even that great”. You can expect a very long editorial after that keynote, and oooh it is only a few months away!
iPhone 4S: the final straw that killed the iPhone series.
