Yes, I have been covering this story extensively in the past week, and it looks like the 3D phone will in fact be announced on February 7th, 2011 for Sprint, just a week before the international announcement of the LG Optimus 3D.
According to Phone Arena, a tipster has squealed to them that a phone with a 3D screen and specs close to those of the LG Revolution will be revealed by Sprint PCS on the 7th. Their article specifically said:
Since the announcement, there has been some rumors of what the device will be, but today we got word from an inside source saying that it will be for a glasses-free 3D phone
Thank goodness it is not a low budget 3D tablet, as a 3D smartphone is much more exciting.
