It is a very proud day for Android lovers like me. A new study conducted by The Nielsen Company shows that within the past 6 months there have been more buyers of Android than any other OS in America. This is even more special for me because even in the months of June and July, the peak of iPhone 4 sales, there were still more Android buyers-or should i say Android lovers.

As the graph shows, Android is on a steady rise, whereas iOS is on a downward roller coaster and RIM is just plane falling off of the map. But look only 7 months ago and it was a slightly different story. RIM was actually on an incline, iOS was on a sharp decrease, and in last place was Android but with its steady rise. So, an educated person looking at this graph would determine that Android is really the only stable and increasing OS in the United States. The jump from only 14% to 32% of the market share was most definitely thanks to the Droid line on Verizon and the EVO on Sprint. But nonetheless it looks like the future is bright for mobile phone consumers in the United States.
