Sprint says WiMax is hear to stay, with some LTE in the mix.
Posted on October 30, 2010 | View CommentsSprint and Clear Wire have said that LTE is not needed when WiMax is in play over and over again. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said “Our 4G strategy is WiMAX, full stop!” this was in reply to questions about Sprints testing of LTE on their network. However he did make a slight reference to the possible future of cellular data transmission: “We have so much spectrum that we decided to do tests so in case we have multi-modal phones with other air interfaces, we can add LTE on top of WiMAX and run both networks,”. This would seem to indicate that we could see not just dual-band phones in the... -
QUICK HIT: Apple Store is Down…Again.
Posted on October 30, 2010 | View CommentsAs I went to go check on an apple product I went into the store and the site is down with the usual sticky note left behined. Could this be a verizon iphone?, new macbook pro?, or just some new mac software? We doubt the first two, maybe it is the white iPhone…no probably just some software or house cleaning. Stay tuned to see whats up. Update: The store is still down (12:38AM PST). I think this is the longest it has been down for some time. Last time we saw this message the store was back up inside of an hour. We will keep checking in and let you... -
Update: More on the PSP Phone aka Zeus.
Posted on October 29, 2010 | View CommentsIt looks like the PSP phone we started talking about on the 27th might be called the Zeus. The Zeus will be running Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) on release but it looks like the testing models that are floating around have multiple versions of Android on them. Sony Ericsson seems to be going a little BlackBerry with the design of this phone, however it is a little thick. Right now the phone measures in at about 17mm and has a similar feel as the PSP Go. The device we are looking at has an 8GB SD card with 512mb of internal storage, however we should see 1GB of internal storage on... -
QUICK HIT: Droid Incredible – BestBuy Free Phone Friday
Posted on October 28, 2010 | View CommentsSeveral weeks ago BestBuy announced that it would be running a “Free Phone” program on Fridays. Basically you can get the phone that they are offering for free with a new two year contract. We all had hopped that we would see a Droid device on this program, and now we do. If you are in the market for a HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless, you can hit up BestBuy on Friday to get it free with at new two year plan. This is one of the best Droid branded phones on the “planet”. Also being included in this free phone friday is the Motorola Droid 2, however BB... -
Breaking: Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 Are a Go!
Posted on October 27, 2010 | View CommentsI know those of us over at forum.learnnavi.org are pretty dang happy right now and if the title did not tell you why, here’s why. James Cameron and Fox announced today that Avatar’s 2 and 3 are confirmed and in pre-production now. I am going to jump to the good stuff and tell you when you can see the awesome, and awe inspiring world of Pandora again. Avatar 2 will be out the door and on 3D screens (theatre) in 2014 and 3 will hit the year after in 2015 (please no “if we are all still here jokes”). For all of you who don’t know me, I am an... -
Rant: Apple Delays White iPhone 4 AGAIN!
Posted on October 27, 2010 | View CommentsWe were disappointed when we heard that Apple was going to delay the white iPhone 4 the first time, irritated when they delayed the second time, well now we are just down right angry. I was personally really irritated when this happened the first time. I had planned on getting the black and returning it with in the 30-day wait and getting the elusive white “unicorn” device. This time Apple might as well just give up and cancel the white iPhone 4. Apple said today that it was pushing the white iPhone 4 back to Sprint 2011. I know right SPRING 2011. Apple why not just wait three more months... -
Leaked: At Last the PSP We’ve Been Waiting For – The PSP Phone
Posted on October 27, 2010 | View CommentsEver since I purchased my first PSP I have thought “wouldn’t be great if you could slap touch screen on this and maybe make some calls”. At last we have finally seen perhaps the most interesting and gammer oriented phone of all time. Above you are looking at a leaked Sony prototype psp/phone thing. This device is running what appears to Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) or at least it will be. Engadget seems to believe that we will see this PlayStation Phone hitting the marked “very soon”, perhaps by the end of this year or very early 2011. This device in addition to be pretty revolutionary will have it’s own version... -
Adam Tablet to Get 15+ hours of Battery Life
Posted on October 24, 2010 | View CommentsWe have been impressed with the claims by the crew at Notion Ink. But this new claim straight from Rohan Shravan is the most exciting yet. According to Rohan his own personal Adam tablet currently is getting 15 hours of battery life. However he says that new Adam Tablets should get well over 15 hours of battery life! Of course this only talking about the Pixel-Qi Version ($499). But even the battery sucking LCD version ($399) should have about 15 hours. Lets just hope that Notion can pull all of this off! -Joel Pederson AGRS Editor Source: Notion Ink Website -
More on Verizon Tiered Data Pricing.
Posted on October 21, 2010 | View CommentsIt looks like we now have the final information (thought not official) on Verizon’s plan for tiered data pricing and it really is not all that bad. So the main point is that Verizon is not getting rid of unlimited data (yet) instead they are simply just giving people the option to get 150MB of data for $15/month. We all like choice. In addition to the main data plans we have several other plans for other devices and though you can see them in the image above I will list them anyway. Feature Phones/Media Phones: 150Mb at $15/month. Unlimited at $30/month. Note: A data plan is no longer required for... -
Leaked: More on the next MacBook Air! [Update]
Posted on October 20, 2010 | View CommentsIt looks like we now have some more information on and possible confirmation of an 11.6 inch MacBook Air and the 13.3 inch we leaked a few days back. Engadget managed to get some more information from their tipster who happened to have some time with the next MacBook Air and he is confirming that we will see Jobs unveil an 11.6 inch MacBook Air in just a few hours at “Back to the Mac”. This really has me stoked. I have always admired the sexiness of the MacBook Air and now that it is smaller and with some actual power in the device (not to mention a possible price...
