More images of the HTC Mondrian – press shots?
Posted on September 29, 2010 | View CommentsLooks like we now have some more images and a little bit more information on the HTC Mondrian. In recent a German site named BestBoyZ has been delivering a lot of the leaks about this phone and now one of their tipsters has sent them these very clear images of the HTC Mondrian that look like they may be future press shots. This is supposed to launch at or very soon after the Windows Phone 7 platform release. This also looks to be the highest end smartphone being launched, not in its category but in the whole of all smartphone’s. The rumor is that the this Mondrian is going to... -
BlackBerry “Playbook” [Video].
Posted on September 29, 2010 | View CommentsToday the CEO of RIM announced the new BlackBerry Playbook. The tablet will run off of an OS created by the recently acquired QNX. RIM also stated the PlayBook’s ability to handle Flash content via Flash 10.1, as well as Adobe AIR apps. The new slate — which Lazaridis described as “the first professional tablet” — will have a 7-inch, 1024 x 600, capacitive multitouch display, a Cortex A9-based, dual-core 1GHz CPU (the company calls it the “fastest tablet ever”), 1GB of RAM, and a 3 megapixel front-facing camera along with a 5 megapixel rear lens (and yes, there will be video conferencing). There was no mention of onboard storage capacity... -
The Final Two Straws that Broke The iPhone 4′s Back [Editorial].
Posted on September 29, 2010 | View CommentsThe HTC EVO 4G came out on June 4th, 2010. Every person on this planet should and will look back on that date, when the current best smartphone and the worlds first 3G/4G phone became available to the United States. The iPhone 4 then came out later that month, and look at its reception. From day one the antennagate problem was felt by everyone who used the phone. I mean what good is a phone if you can’t get a data connection? The EVO was the first phone to actually compete against the iPhone and win. Sure, the iPhone 4 had much larger sales numbers, but a majority of the... -
HTC G2 (Desire Z) Preview.
Posted on September 28, 2010 | View CommentsThose lucky reporters over at Engadget have got their hands on the G2, which will come out on T-Mobile on October 6th. In case you have no idea what the G2 is, it is the American variant of the new Desire Z. From what they have posted, it is going to be, “…T-Mobile’s most solid Android phone yet”. Lets take a look at what Engadget Reporter Joanna Stern thought about the G2. Hardware / screen: Just like our very proper English counterparts, we found the overall build of the G2 to be superb. At 6.5 ounces it does feel a bit heavy, but if that’s the sacrifice we’ve got to make for... -
QUICK HIT: Best Buy Free Phone Fridays.
Posted on September 28, 2010 | View CommentsBest Buy announced that it is trying out a new program today called “Free Phone Fridays”. This program will run through the month of October and Best Buy will offer a new free phone every Friday from 4 of the major US carriers. So what phone are they offering right now, well none other then the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon. The only catch in all of this is that to get a free phone you do have to sign a new contract. But hey you are getting a phone for free. Hopefully next week we will see a Droid device. Each phone will be announced on Thursday before 1PM central... -
Leaked: HTC Merge (Lexicon) for Verizon On Camera.
Posted on September 27, 2010 | View CommentsLooks like Verizon has managed to get Bing onto another Android powered smart phone. The Boy Genius Report (BGR) just got these images in of the HTC ADR6325 or as it is believed to be called the HTC Merge or the Lexicon, we will stick with Merge for now. Anyhow, we have been drooling over this phone for a couple months now and every image we get makes us want to get all over that awesome keyboard. This is also believed to be the CDMA version of the Desire Z (G2) for Verizon. The Merge is going to be a dual mode phone better known as a Global phone, this... -
Microsoft event October 11th in London.
Posted on September 27, 2010 | View CommentsWell we edge even closer to confirming a Windows Phone 7 launch. Microsoft has begun inviting people (sadly we are not able to go) to a press conference in London on October 11. The event will begin at about 2:00PM London time or 9:00AM EST (6AM PST) and should end about 5:30PM London time. It also looks like their will be hands on demo’s with Windows Phone 7 devices. We really do expect this to be the announcement for the European round of WP7 devices with ours believed to be coming November 8th. You can catch the live blog from our friends over at Engadget here. We will will update the story as more information becomes available. Anyone else pumped for... -
QUICK HIT: Windows Phone 7 to UK and others October 21? [Update: US 11/8]
Posted on September 26, 2010 | View CommentsNeowin is citing anonymous sources that say Windows Phone 7 will arrive in the UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy on exactly October 21st. Microsoft is also believed to be prepping advertisements for an October 11th launch event in New York. We can not very that this information is correct by itself, but it we put together other rumors it look quite believable. Pocket-lint and El Economista would agree. Update: Microsoft expert Paul Thurrott is saying that Microsoft is holding some sort of event in New York on October 11, but it is not the aforementioned Windows Phone 7 event. He is instead saying that we should see WP7 devices... -
HTC Mondrian on unfinished AT&T Ad? [Video]
Posted on September 26, 2010 | View CommentsIt looks like we may be seeing the HTC Mondrian for the first time in some clearly unfinished AT&T advertisements. If these ad’s are real then it looks like we are viewing what may be the flagship Windows Phone 7 device at launch, remember that is believed to be next month. Oh and what’s really sweet is that the phone might be packing a 1.3 GHz Snapdragon processor. Video below. Source: JP Incorporated (Vimeo). Via: Engadget.
