  • The Samsung Galaxy Tab will probably be more than a giant Galaxy S says Engadget. Information from the FCC makes it look like when this thing hits US markets that it will have faster and stronger connectivity to both WiFi and cellular networks, even better than that Apple tablet everyone likes so much. According to the information we have the Galaxy Tab will support dual band WiFi at 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi capable of speeds up to 150Mbps. That’s some tasty internet right there. The one that just landed at the FCC appears to be slated for AT&T at least that’s what the GSM 1900 radio frequency states,...

  • QUICK HIT: Apple To Stream Music Event

Do you get tired of trying to read those live blogs? Do we get tired of writing live blogs? the answer to both of those is most likely yes. Apple feels our pain. So what are they going to do? For the first time ever Apple will stream the September 1st Music Event (that’s tomorrow) online. However there is a catch here, Windows and Android users can forget about watching the thing live. Apple has decided that the only users that will be able to view the content are people who are using Mac’s running OS X and using Safari, iPhone/iPod Touch with iOS 3.0 and up, and iPad users....

  • BREAKING – Samsung Galaxy Tab to Verizon – no really.

Well because we totally did not see this coming when we last talked about the Galaxy Tab by Samsung. It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be headed to Verizon, at least that’s what the screen shot suggests, that and the fact that thing is CDMA, and that Verizon has wanted a tablet for a while. we’ve heard (but not confirmed) that the Tab will have 512MB of RAM, that the interface is quite smooth but still stuttery in areas, and that battery life is about six hours — but we’d take all that with a grain of salt, since anything can change before release. We will be hitting...

  • Motorola Will NOT Update Leaked 2.2 For Droid X

Motorola posted a note up on their support forums warning all Droid X owners self upgrading to the leaked Android 2.2 build or any custom ROMS that’re out there — they’ll be cut off from the official upgrade when it hits in early September and potentially “stuck on the leaked version”. Normally this would be understandable, how ever when you couple this with the eFuse and the cease a desist letters, Motorola seems very unhappy with hackers or tweakers, a very Apple standpoint on a phone that is supposed to be about freedom and customization. So this that means this Droid does NOT do total customization. Contrast that with HTC,...

  • New Set of Droid Mini Photos actually XT300.

Well it’s been a while since any info has been leaked about that Droid Mini we reported a long while back. It now looks to be called the XT300. The red Droid eye makes us think that this mini porturate slider will hit Verizon, how ever the XT300 name fits more with Motorola’s GSM scheme. We hope to see more if this phone in the future, the keyboard looks really nice. It is questionable though as to the Droid name being used as it is typically reserved for higher end Android phones, this phone does not appear to be high end, it looks to be running either Android 1.6 or...

The tablet sports a 7 inch 1024×600 resolution capacitive touch screen, Android 2.2, a 1 GHz processor, 1.3 mp front camera, 5 mp rear. and a boat load of accessories though they will cost you, like the €82 ($105) keyboard dock or the €54 ($69) HDMI out dock. So why did we feel we...

  • Toshiba’s Tegra-2 Android Smart Pad Soon To Be Known As Folio 100

Rumors about the Toshiba Smart Pad have been floating around in recent, but it looks like Smart Pad is not the name of the device. Notebookitalia is claiming that the Android powered tablet will be released under the name of Folio 100. Along with the name they are also handing over some unconfirmed specs. The “Folio 100″ should have a 1024×600 screen resolution, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, 16GB of internal storage, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3G, SD and MMC card readers, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a 1020mAh battery with a battery life of up to 7 hours with mixed use (browsing and video playback). We might also see some sort...

  • "…Makes the Droid 2 look like a kids toy”: The "Verizon EVO"

Well it looks like we have another mystery Android phone that appears to be headed to Verizon. This time it looks as if Verizon will be getting their first front facing camera phone. Little is known about this phone and we mean little, what we do know is that this phone has an 8 megapixel camera with a flash plus a front-facing camera, a 4.3-inch screen, a headphone jack and a kickstand. It is also rocking the amazing Sense UI, this leads us along with the Boy Genius Report to think that this is an Android phone. This also falls in line with rumors about the HTC Merge which should...
